After any major update, your iPhone rebuilds its world: Spotlight reindexes every file, Photos re-analyses faces and scenes, and on-device machine-learning models retrain. All of it runs in the background and all of it costs battery.
This is temporary and self-resolving. Leave the iPhone on a charger overnight and judge battery life from the third day, not the first.
Cause 2: debug overhead (normal, whole beta season)
Beta builds carry logging and diagnostic code that final releases strip out. This costs a few percent of daily battery on every beta, on every platform, all season.
There is no fix because it isn't a fault — it's the price of early access, and it disappears at the public release.
