iOS 27 Supported iPhones
iOS 27 runs on iPhone 11 and later, plus the iPhone SE (2nd generation) and newer. In practice that means every iPhone from 2019 onward: the iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 families, the iPhone Air, and the recent SE models.
Compatibility is not the same as feature parity. Apple Intelligence and the rebuilt Siri require more capable silicon, so some supported iPhones run iOS 27 without offering every headline feature. Which iPhones Are Dropped in iOS 27
Three models end their software road with iOS 26: the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. All three ran iOS 26 but do not support iOS 27, making iOS 26 their final major version.
That is not the end of support. Apple continues to ship security updates for the previous release line for years afterwards, so an iPhone XR on the latest iOS 26 build stays patched well beyond the iOS 27 launch. If you own one of these models, keeping current within iOS 26 is exactly the right thing to do.
Should You Install the iOS 27 Beta or Wait?
If iOS 27 is going on the iPhone you rely on every day, waiting for the public beta in July — or better, the Release Candidate in September — costs you almost nothing and avoids the roughest builds. Early developer betas break third-party apps, drain batteries and occasionally require a restore.
